new interior render...

trying out the various options in mental ray rendering for my interior scenes now. maybe add some more realistic furniture families and of course work on the backgrounds/landscapes, but otherwise i think it's getting there. any thoughts?

the weekly top five...

i've decided to take a leaf from the creator of Penny Lane...yes, you know who you are ;-) ... and begin a weekly top five list. being that i am a building designer and all round architecture and design nut, it seems only fitting that the first top five list relates to houses. so here it is... my top five greatest examples of residential design.

number 5 : Kaufmann House, Richard Neutra

number 4: Farnsworth House, Mies van der Rohe

number 3: Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright

number 2: Mirindiba House, Marcio Kogan

and the number 1 most amazing residential design...

Fallingwater, Frank Lloyd Wright

penny lane

well, it had to happen eventually. my favourite most awesomeness niece has created a blog. not just any blog though. it's an interesting, insightful, pondering, quintessential, a tad zany look into the inner musings of her mind. some artwork she's done is also featured.
i look forward with baited breath the next installment in the continuing saga that is and forever more shall be known as Penny Lane.

updated rendering technique

updated renders of a concept. have continued with the whole new rendering process and have been adjusting shadow, saturation etc. not quite life-like but i think i'm getting there.

i'm thinking...

i'm thinking it should be cut from a sheet of corten steel...

awopbopaloobop...

this would look great stamped across a white painted brick wall.
a great little stress relief mantra too!

the best client's i could have hoped for...

Brian and Shirley were the best client's i could have ever hoped for. they saw the design and loved and remained faithful to it until completion. details added along the way were no trouble for themselves or Trevor (the builder). the house is incredible. hopefully (fingers crossed) an award winner also ;-)

bulimba renders

two renders of the design for bulimba. might try mixing it up a bit. not 100% happy with the way it turned out.

part of the back catalog

a couple of revit renders. none of these designs are going ahead but they are now in my 'design bank' for any future opportunities.

interior revit render

an interior render shot i did a while ago for a site at wellington point. the clients have since pulled out and the site is now on the market for $3 million plus... any takers?
